Daily Potomac flow and demand update (Thursday 08/04/2011)

Yesterday's scattered showers produced between a 0.01 to a 0.25 of an inch of rain for parts of the basin. Similar scattered showers are expected for today. The 48-hour forecast shows a chance of up to a 0.25 of an inch of rain across the basin. The National Weather Service (NWS) quantitative precipitation forecasts (qpf) indicates the basin could receive accumulated rainfall between 0.5 and 1.25 inches over the next 5 days.

Little Falls gage flow 08/03: 980 MGD (1510 cfs)
Little Falls gage flow 08/04: 940 MGD (est., based on recently available real time data) (1450 cfs)
Note: Gage flow at Little Falls is measured after water supply withdrawals.
Point of Rocks flow 08/03: 1140 MGD (1770 cfs)
Point of Rocks flow 08/04: 1100 MGD (est., based on recently available real time data) (1700 cfs)

Net Potomac Production (08/03/11):
FW Corbalis raw water withdrawal (Potomac): 128 MGD
WSSC Potomac Production: 148 MGD
Aqueduct withdrawal: 188 MGD
Total Potomac demand: 464 MGD
