Daily Potomac flow and demand update (Tuesday 08/17/2010)

There were scattered showers and thunderstorms in the southeastern part of the Potomac River basin yesterday. The National Weather Service predicts heavy rain tomorrow throughout the region with possible accumulations ranging from 2 inches in the southeastern portion of the basin to an inch in the northwest.

Daily Flows:
Little Falls gage flow 08/16: 1510 MGD (2330 cfs)
Little Falls gage flow 08/17: 1100 MGD (est., based on recently
available real time data) (1700 cfs)
Note: Gage flow at Little Falls is measured after water
supply withdrawals.
Point of Rocks flow 08/16: 1040 MGD (1610 cfs)
Point of Rocks flow 08/17: 1020 MGD (est., based on recently
available real time data) (1580 cfs)

Net Potomac Production (08/16/10):
FW Corbalis raw water withdrawal (Potomac): 109 MGD
WSSC Potomac Production: 149 MGD
Aqueduct withdrawal: 160 MGD
Total Potomac demand: 418 MGD
