Daily Potomac flow and demand update (Wednesday 08/25/2010)

Potomac River flow at Little Falls increased slightly from yesterday. Over the past 48 hours, portions of the Potomac Basin received between 0 and a 1/4 inch of rain; some isolated areas received up to 1/2 an inch of rain. The Middle Atlantic River Forecast Center predicts that scattered showers may occur through Wednesday evening. The 48-hour QPF shows possible rain accumulations between 0 and a 1/4 inch of rain with larger amounts occurring in the upper portions of the basin.

Little Falls gage flow 08/24: 810 MGD (1260 cfs)
Little Falls gage flow 08/25: 860 MGD (est., based on recently
available real time data) (1330 cfs)
Note: Gage flow at Little Falls is measured after water
supply withdrawals.
Point of Rocks flow 08/24: 990 MGD (est., based on recently
available real time data) (1530 cfs)
Point of Rocks flow 08/25: 970 MGD (est., based on recently
available real time data) (1500 cfs)

Net Potomac Production (08/24/10):
FW Corbalis raw water withdrawal (Potomac): 99 MGD
WSSC Potomac Production: 134 MGD
Aqueduct withdrawal: 166 MGD
Total Potomac demand: 399 MGD
