Daily Potomac flow and demand update (Thursday 08/26/2010)

The Middle Atlantic River Forecast Center shows that some portions of the Basin received rain accumulations of up to a 0.01 of an inch yesterday; most areas received no rain. The Forecast Center shows no rain over the next 48 hours. The National Weather Service Quantitative Precipitation Forecast shows no rain in the basin above Little Falls over the next 5 day period.

Flows at Point of Rocks rose slightly due to small showers above the
gage. Flows at Little Falls continue to drop.

Daily Flows:
Little Falls gage flow 08/25: 810 MGD (1260 cfs)
Little Falls gage flow 08/26: 700 MGD (est., based on recently
available real time data) (1090 cfs)
Note: Gage flow at Little Falls is measured after water
supply withdrawals.
Point of Rocks flow 08/25: 960 MGD (1490 cfs)
Point of Rocks flow 08/26: 980 MGD (est., based on recently
available real time data) (1520 cfs)

Net Potomac Production (08/25/10):
FW Corbalis raw water withdrawal (Potomac): 108 MGD
WSSC Potomac Production: 140 MGD
Aqueduct withdrawal: 167 MGD
Total Potomac demand: 415 MGD
