Daily Potomac flow and demand update (Friday 08/20/2010)

The Middle Atlantic River Forecast Center shows that there were a few isolated areas of rain yesterday that accumulated up to 0.10 inches of rain. Over the next 48 hours there is a chance of 0.10 inches of rain in the North Branch watershed according to the Forecast Center. The National Weather Service Quantitative Precipitation Forecast shows possible accumulation of 0.10 to 0.50 inches of rain across the basin over the next 5 day period.

Little Falls gage flow 08/19: 2050 MGD (3170 cfs)
Little Falls gage flow 08/20: 1490 MGD (est., based on recently
available real time data) (2300 cfs)
Note: Gage flow at Little Falls is measured after water
supply withdrawals.
Point of Rocks flow 08/19: 1070 MGD (1660 cfs)
Point of Rocks flow 08/20: 1120 MGD (est., based on recently
available real time data) (1740 cfs)

Net Potomac Production (08/19/10):
FW Corbalis raw water withdrawal (Potomac): 91 MGD
WSSC Potomac Production: 134 MGD
Aqueduct withdrawal: 164 MGD
Total Potomac demand: 389 MGD
