Afternoon Potomac flow and demand update (Thursday 09/23/2010)

As noted in this morning's email, a water supply release from the the
North Branch reservoirs was requested with a Luke target of 312 cfs.
There have been no changes to the weather forecast and operational
recommendations remain the same.

Daily Flows:
Little Falls gage flow 09/22: 640 MGD (990 cfs)
Little Falls gage flow 09/23: 640 MGD (est., based on most
recently available real time data) (987 cfs)
Note: Gage flow at Little Falls is measured after water
supply withdrawals.
Point of Rocks flow 09/22: 880 MGD (1360 cfs)
Point of Rocks flow 09/23: 820 MGD (est., based on recently
available real time data) (1270 cfs)

Today's estimated demand (09/23/10) P.M.:
WSSC P.M. estimated demand: 195 MGD
FW P.M. estimated demand: 205 MGD
Aqueduct P.M. estimated demand: 175 MGD
Total P.M. estimated demand: 575 MGD

Tomorrow's estimated demand (09/24/10):
WSSC estimated demand: 195 MGD
FW estimated demand: 205 MGD
Aqueduct estimated demand: 175 MGD
Total estimated demand: 575 MGD

Recommended operations for today (09/23/10):

Fairfax Water:
Shift withdrawals to the Potomac as much as operationally feasible.

WSSC:
Shift withdrawals to the Potomac as much as operationally feasible.

Seneca (release date, time, amount in MGD):
No release from Little Seneca Reservoir is scheduled today.

Aqueduct:
Per operational preference.

North Branch Reservoirs:
A water supply release with a Luke target of 312 cfs was requested
