Afternoon Potomac flow and demand update (Wednesday 09/15/2010)

There has been no change in weather conditions. Operational
recommendations remain the same as in this morning's update.

Daily Flows:
Little Falls gage flow 09/14: 490 MGD (760 cfs)
Little Falls gage flow 09/15: 380 MGD (est., based on most
recently available real time data) (593 cfs)
Note: Gage flow at Little Falls is measured after water
supply withdrawals.
Point of Rocks flow 09/14: 740 MGD (1140 cfs)
Point of Rocks flow 09/15: 720 MGD (est., based on recently
available real time data) (1120 cfs)

Today's estimated demand (09/15/10) P.M.:
WSSC P.M. estimated demand: 185 MGD
FW P.M. estimated demand: 190 MGD
Aqueduct P.M. estimated demand: 155 MGD
Total P.M. estimated demand: 530 MGD

Tomorrow's estimated demand (09/16/10):
WSSC estimated demand: 185 MGD
FW estimated demand: 195 MGD
Aqueduct estimated demand: 160 MGD
Total estimated demand: 540 MGD

Recommended operations for today (09/15/10):

Fairfax Water:
Prepare for Thursday's Potomac withdrawal request of 125 MGD maximum.
If operational considerations require an increase above this level, or
allow a significant long-term decrease below this level, please inform
ICPRB staff.

WSSC:
Potomac withdrawal request: 150 MGD maximum. If operational
considerations require an increase above this level, or allow a
significant long-term decrease below this level, please inform ICPRB
staff.

Seneca (release date, time, amount in MGD):
No release from Little Seneca Reservoir is scheduled today.

Aqueduct:
Continue pumping from Pump #1 at Little Falls (60-65 mgd).

North Branch Reservoirs:
Luke target remains 390 cfs.
