Afternoon Potomac flow and demand update (Wednesday 09/08/2010)

ICPRB COOP has requested concurrence from the utility general managers
to conduct a 50 MGD time of travel test release from approximately
8:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 9 through 8:00 a.m. on Friday,
September 10.

The weather update remains the same as this morning.

Daily Flows:
Little Falls gage flow 09/07: 380 MGD (590 cfs)
Little Falls gage flow 09/08: 380 MGD (est., based on most
recently available real time data) (593 cfs)
Note: Gage flow at Little Falls is measured after water
supply withdrawals.
Point of Rocks flow 09/07: 660 MGD (1020 cfs)
Point of Rocks flow 09/08: 650 MGD (est., based on recently
available real time data) (1010 cfs)

Today's estimated demand (09/08/10) P.M.:
WSSC P.M. estimated demand: 205 MGD
FW P.M. estimated demand: 220 MGD
Aqueduct P.M. estimated demand: 170 MGD
Total P.M. estimated demand: 595 MGD

Tomorrow's estimated demand (09/09/10):
WSSC estimated demand: 200 MGD
FW estimated demand: 200 MGD
Aqueduct estimated demand: 170 MGD
Total estimated demand: 570 MGD

Recommended operations for today (09/08/10):

Fairfax Water:
Highest priority: Keep Potomac withdrawals as steady as possible, at
least through the time of travel release from Little Seneca Reservoir.
Second priority: Conserve Occoquan Reservoir storage as much as possible.

WSSC:
Highest priority: Keep Potomac withdrawals as steady as possible, at
least through the time of travel release from Little Seneca Reservoir.
Second priority: Conserve Patuxent Reservoir storage as much as possible.
